This 4 day competition was swum short course in prelims, and long course in finals and was divided into age groups: Youth (15&U Women, 16&U Men) and Open categories. Relays: The CW team placed 24th out of 52 teams in the 4 x 100m Freestyle Open relay, racing against some much older competitors. In the 4 x 200m Freestyle relay, all 4 girls had a tremendous swim, bettering their overall seed time by almost 12 seconds - Lexi Meklensek (2:08.56), Hayley Hess (2:08.80), Leah Meklensek (2:13.68) and Emma Radun (2:17.36). Individual performances: Hayley Hess (16) earned a spot in the B-finals for her performance in the 100m Butterfly with a personal best time of 1:03.02 and swam to a 2nd place finish in B-finals on the final day of competition. Hayley also swam a PB for 100m freestyle. Lexi Meklensek (14) swam two personal bests in the 50m and 100m freestyles. Emma Radun (14) had 100% best times for her swims in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and dropped nearly 5 seconds from her 200m breaststroke. Leah Meklensek qualified for Easterns at just 12 years of age which is an incredible accomplishment! Leah swam two PBs in the 100m and 200m freestyles. Well done swimmers and Coach Chuck! Hayley, Lexi, Emma and Leah will join 6 other CW swimmers at the provincial Age Group Champs March 1-4 in Nepean, ON.
