Star Swimming held its 13th Annual Short Course Swim Meet for A-B-C Age Group at Erie Community College,  Buffalo NY.  The meet kicked off last February 5, 2010 and ended on the 7th.  Clubs from across New York and Michigan came to the meet to participate and compete.

Waterloo Rapid Swimmers brought home an impressive 49 medals in total.  In the 10 & under age group for women, Leah Meklensek won 8 medals.  Winning gold medals for both 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. She finished 2nd in the 100 IM, backstroke and freestyle and also in the 200 yard backstroke and freestyle, and the silver medal in the 50 butterfly.

The Rapids girls brought home 10 gold, 6 silver  and 9 bronze medals, while on the men's side, 19 medals were won for the team. Cole Ellis-Hale brought 9 medals. He ranked 1st both in 100 backstroke and butterfly and also in 200 IM and butterfly.  He also placed 2nd  in 50 and 200 backstroke, and 3rd in 50,100 and 200 freestyle.

Teodor Kolev from the 10 & under age group finished second in both 50 butterfly and backstroke, and went 3rd in both 50 freestyle and breaststroke and lastly in 100 freestyle. Along with those two boys, Kostadin Kolev took home 2 bronze medals in the 50 freestyle and 400 IM respectively.

The team came home with a ton of hardware and are now preparing for the Championship meets in March.
