The Western Region in partnership with Swim Ontario, hosted a Regional training camp this past weekend in Guelph.  The camp, comprised of the top swimmers from across the region, was geared to 12 & under girls and 13 & under boys. Qualification was based on swimmers best FINA POINT scoring swims in their best event and an IM event.  Only the 4 best 12 year old girls and the 4 best 13 year old boys from across the region qualified.

12 year old Leah Meklensek qualified with her 50 free time and 200 IM,  while 13 year old Mackenzie Goodwin qualified with his performances in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 IM.

The camp included 4 water, 2 dryland sessions and classroom sessions.  Next up for Leah and Mackenzie is the Etobicoke Pentathlon in early April along with the remainder of the CW team.
